POdcAst pEoplE

I love to start work with a cuppa, some biscuits and a podcast. Here are some of my favourite podcast selections for illustrators everywhere!

1! ATHLETICO MINCE.

Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson present a podcast that initially about football, but quickly became a front for tales of Barry Homeowner, Steve Mclaren's hair island and his pet snake Casper, strange Scottish folk tales, Observational brass hand comedy and the beautiful monologues of Peter Beardsley. Some of the best British comedy of recent times!

2! NO SUCH THING AS A FISH.

The researchers behind QI present a podcast full of the most bizarre facts they have found that week. It's a goldmine for any one slightly curious or nerdy, and is very funny also! Extra points for having sooo many episodes.

3! THE ADAM BUXTON PODCAST.

Comedian Adam Buxton's podcast is worth a listen just for his adverts, which is usually that annoying bit that you try and skip, but Buxton makes them into hilarious songs and skits. I love his dog Rosie and the old wise Oak tree that occasionally pop up... oh yeah and his BIG CELEB GUESTS are pretty good as well.

4! MY DAD WROTE A PORNO.

Jamie Moreton reads his dads sidesplittingly weird (and kind of innocent) erotic fiction to his friends Alice Levine and James Cooper.  It's very very very funny, and like all of the great podcasts, it's a world you can get utterly lost in.

5! S-TOWN.

One of the few "serious" podcasts I got stuck into, this is so much more than the initial mystery it starts as. It's a fascinating look into the world surrounding a Antiquarian Horologist in a small Alabama town, it's just brilliant!

6! KERMODE AND MAYO'S FILM REVIEW SHOW.

Of course I have to mention this, it is about films, but it's also about two men with so many in-jokes that they have they're own in-joke wikipedia (Witterpedia). It truly is "Wittertainment at it's most wittertaining!"
