Screen-Printing

Ive been in the textile doing screenprinting recently,I love the accidents and mistakes and textures as well as the colours and over-printing. Ive been making many important mistakes.

a pattern I made by over-printing the same screen upside-down. the next step is try and print this onto fabric with a blue and pink colour-way I also did.

this one was inspired by a Mike Perry screen-print (inspired:ripped off) I made it by print the acetate in positive and negative, and then turning one upside-down. I love the pink and yellow overlay, with a wrinkly texture that came from drying the print off with newspaper)

another colour-way of the print. There is some speculation over what it is, to me its the moon looking in a large mirror, or the reflection in the sea. not that it really matters.

For this one turned the screens the right way round. I didn't have enough yellow left in the pot so I swirled in a little red, while you do this it looks like mixing jam into youghurt. When I printed it the swirl came out at first and then streaked into a sunset, I like the effect.

I used the print to in sketch for a book cover, I like the effect of the white paint over the print.

I purposely printed the two screens slightly off, I like the effect of the overlaying this causes, also the pink ink running out at the bottom was entirely intentional (I do like it though). This must be what a airfix kit looks like once all the glue has gone up ones nose.
